Griswold bag, 2nd type, 1st version. Stamped with part number 43G23402 which dates it to 1943. This is the rare rigger modified version with thick felt extension to take the regular Carbine or Thompson machine gun without the need to take the weapon apart. This modification was typical for the jump in Holland and after. The steel Crown zipper still has its canvas pull and works fine. So does the United Carr brass snap fastener. A rare piece of modified paratrooper equipment that will be perfect for display. Very good condition.
