This is the official 1st Division history book that was printed in 1947. The hardcover book contains 404 pages with several campaign maps, a supplement plus an additional section with many photos. This is the hard to find original version, not a reprint and it is one of the best unit histories of WWII. The book belonged to veteran Robert J. Hurstak who served with Company D, 26th Infantry Regiment. Hustak's ASN was 31469518 and he enlisted on June 8, 1944. Obviously he joined the 1st Division as a replacement. The cover has some discolouration but overal the book is in good shape. This book is a 'must have' for the WWII history buff or anyone with a specific interest in this D Day unit.
