Large size soft cover book about the assault on Omaha Beach and Point du Hoc. It was published by the Historical Division of the War Department in 1945. This hard to find book is without a doubt the best documented book available. 168 pages with many photos, maps and fold outs. A 'must have' for the WWII history buff or anyone with a specific interest in this battle. These books are becoming exceedingly difficult to find. This example shows age, especially at the spine were it is damaged. There are sixteen maps present but map IX is missing as map XI was put mistakenly put in its place (priced accordingly). The text block and maps however are in good shape and this remains a prefect book for studying the battle. Good condition.
