816th Engineer Aviation Battalion history
816th Engineer Aviation Battalion history. This is the official 816th Engineer Aviation Battalion book that was printed right after the war. This is the hard to find original version, not some reprint. It still has its dust jacket which is usually missing. The book is not dated but printed in Germany and most likely in 1945. It contains 176 pages with many drawings and photos plus a large multi color fold out map in the back. Books of battalion size unit are rare because fewer were printed. The 816th Engineer Aviation Battalion built airstrips all across Europe starting with A-3 at Cardonville in Normandy right after D Day. This is a rare book of a small unit and a 'must have' for the WWII history buff or anyone with a specific interest in Engineer Aviation units or the 816th in particular. It comes with the Aviation Engineer poem that was in the book. Very good condition.
