This is the official 2nd Armored Division history book that was printed right after the war. It contains many photos and in the back are several full page campaign maps. This is the hard to find orginal version, not a reprint and one of the best unit histories of WWII. This particular book belonged to Major William L. Schwinghamer, ASN O-29184, who served with the 2nd Armored Division from 15 December 1941 until 31 May 1945. Apparently he was head dental surgeon of the Division. The book comes with a 1944 dated short history of the 2nd Armored Division and a newspaper clipping showing Major Schwinghamer with top hat that were in the book. A must have for the WWII history buff or anyone with a specific interest in the 2nd Armored Division. Great unit history with research potential. Very good condition.
