Combat boots aka 'buckle boots' introduced in 1943. These are actually early type low quarter shoes of turned leather with toecaps that have the cuffs added. The shoes are size 9½ C and most likely made in 1943. The reenforcing rivets below the eyelets are another indication of early production. The tongues were extended but the extension of the left shoe is no longer present. The original aces are present. The cuffs have the early type wire buckles and white canvas with 1943 date stamp. The early type shoes of turned leather with toecaps are very hard to find and this is a rare modification to combat boots which is missing from most collections. The rarity of these boots warrants a place in a collection. Also in a perfect size for a mannequin. View the many photos. Very good condition.
