Duffle bag with painted color code. It has the painted POM (Preparation for Overseas Movement) code associated with invasions. The bag is ID-ed to Anthony E. Besio, ASN 39688955, who enlisted on 24 November 1942. His name and ASN are stencilled twice on the bag, with the white over the black. The maker's stamp on the inside of the bag is very faint. But usually these POM marked bags are 1943 dated which is also indicated by the type of snap hook. Interesting piece with research potential and perfect for display. Very good condition.
