Paratrooper chinstrap. This is a rare fabric chincup with 5 zinc alloy eyelets. The chin support is sewn on the base strap with box stitches. These were typically installed on Westinghouse jump liners with green painted A washers as used during the jump into Holland, September 1944. This type of chinstrap is featured in my book 'The M-1 Helmet of the WWII US GI' see last photo. Very good condition.
