Double deck published by Esquire magazine in 1944 (copyrighted on the box and Jokers). Both decks are complete with four suits, Joker and Phil Stack poem card. The double deck of 1944 is the hardest set to find and the Pin Ups on these cards are among the sexiest drawn by Varga. The set still has its 1944 dated booklet and original shipping box, marked Varga and Double. These are rare and usually missing. Varga was the Nr 1 Pin Up artist of all GI's! These playing cards certainly found their way to GI's footlockers! Superb wartime display item. Very good condition.
