Wooden Jeep toy made by Wood Commodities Corp. Typical wartime item when toys were no longer made of steel, which was all preserved for the war industry. The jeep measures about 26 x 12 centimeters. It still has it steering wheel and the extension to hook on the howitzer, which are usually missing. The paper label on the bottom is no longer present, but these always have the 1943 copyright date. Wood Commodities produced four military toys, a tank, landing barge, howitzer and this jeep. Because of their fragile nature these wooden toys are very hard to find today.
