Pepsi-Cola Pin Up sign
Cardboard Pepsi-Cola advertising sign created by George Petty. Like Varga Petty was a well known artist of Pin Ups during the war. His 'Petty-girls' soon became famous and his work was inspirational for nose-art on many planes, the 'Memphis Belle' to name but one. Petty also did a lot of artwork for advertisements. The sign dates to 1940 and has an image of a bottle with 1940 type labels. It measures about 56.5 x 27.5 centimeters. There is a crack a the left of the middle running down through the Pepsi-Cola logo but it is not very noticeable. At some point the sign was glued on a piece of cardboard which is probably why it survived this long. It will look awesome framed! Very good condition.
