Varga Pin Up Calendar of 1942 & envelope. Published by Esquire. The 1942 calendar was produced in 1941. It has all twelve months with stunning artwork present. This was the nr. 1 Pin Up calendar for all GI's! Varga followed up George Petty as the Pin Up artist with Esquire magazine in 1941. His 'Varga-girls' soon became famous and his work was inspirational for nose-art on many planes and flightjackets. This calendar comes with its original mailing envelope, which is rare. It was sent to Corporal Jerome S. Bednorz, ASN 06269388, who enlisted on October 21, 1941 and served with G battery of the 18th Field Artillery. Great wartime display item with research potential. Very good condition.
