Varga Pin Up gatefold 'Torches at Midnight'. Gatefold of the Esquire magazine of October 1943 and one of the sexiest ever produced by Varga. Alberto Vargas followed up George Petty as the Pin Up artist with Esquire magazine in 1941. His 'Varga-girls' soon became famous and his work was inspirational for nose-art on many planes. Varga created a series of Pin Ups which were presented in the magazine as 'Gatefolds' (fold out posters). Stunning artwork that was most popular among GI's! Verse by Phil Stack. There are some slight stains present. Size is approximately 44 x 35 centimeters. This will look awesome framed! Very good condition.
