€80.00

Varga Pin Up gatefold"Classic Example"". Gatefold of the Esquire magazine of July 1945. Alberto Vargas followed up George Petty as the Pin Up artist with Esquire magazine in 1941. His 'Varga-girls' soon became famous and his work was inspirational for nose-art on many planes. Varga created a series of Pin Ups which were presented in the magazine as 'Gatefolds' (fold out posters). Stunning artwork that was most popular among GI's! Verse by Phil Stack. With superb painting by John Falter on the reverse. Size is approximately 45 x 35 centimeters. This will look awesome framed! Very good condition.
