Burial bottles

€110.00

Burial bottles. Six small green vials in their original cardboard box. These bottles were to be buried along with GI's who were killed in combat. They were used to store Graves Registration form No. 1 or any piece of paper with identifying information about the soldier. The bottles in this box are marked on the bottom with the diamond-oval-I logo of the Owens-Illinois Glass Company with the numbers 3, 2 and 3. The 3 to the right of the makers logo dates them to 1943. This is rare as most of these bottles found today are from 1945. This box is from a small stock that was recently found in Normandy. Excellent condition.
