C ration crate. Wooden C ration crate that contained 8 rations = 48 cans. There were 8 cans with Meat & Beans, 8 cans with Vegetable Stew, 8 can with Vegetable Hash & 24 cans bread unit. 6 cans made 3 meals for a day. Each meal consisted of a meat unit and a bread unit. The crate is dated April 1944 on the side. The inside is clean. It comes from an old collection in Normandy. Very good condition.
