A-2 flight jacket, size 42. Iconic leather jacket that was used by air crews (and anyone who could get one) throughout WWII. The tag under the collar is present. It is a Rough Wear Clothing Co. production. The jacket has a steel Talon zipper which works as it should (although care should be taken when using it, as always). The wool knitted cuffs and waist band show wear and have some holes but are original to the jacket and not replaced as often the case. The jacket has been shortened slightly with the bottom of the pockets being cut flat just above the waistband. At the back the leather has been taken in (quite common among air crews to create a sharp looking jacket). The snap at the righthand pocket is broken. The leather of the elbow erea of the left sleeve is a bit weak and a cut has been repaired on the inside. It looks quite good now. The leather is quite supple but may be treated if desired.  The jacket is named to Jack Weiler and may do with research. A-2 leather flight jackets have become exceedingly difficult to find, especially with the original knitted parts. Very good condition.
