B-15 intermediate flying jacket, size 38. Produced by the Ben Greenholz & Co.Standardised in April 1944. This is one of the rarer versions made entirely of EndZone Twill, a durable combination of cotton and rayon that gave the fabric a shiny appearance. This fabric was first used on B-10 flight jackets, as trim for the underarm gussets and pocket linings. For the B-15 only a few manufacturers were contracted to produce the jacket entirely of EndZone Twill. The jacket has a brass Conmar zipper which works well. The leather pull tab is still present. The jacket shows use and has stains. The wool knitted cuffs and waist band have some small holes but are original to the jacket. There is the usual wear to the backside of the sleeves at the cuffs. The fur collar is nice and full. The Alpaca pile lining is still in good shape. Overall a nice jacket with honest wear which is perfect for a mannequin or display. B-15 flight jackets have become quite difficult to find, especially all complete and original. Comes with a pencil that was in the compartment on the sleeve. Very good condition.
